Hello My Name Is...

This year I am new to Columbus Elementary.  I am excited to be here.  This year I am teaching First Grade.  I have previously taught Special Ed., Pre-K, and Kindergarten.  This is my third year in First.  I have obtained degrees in Special Education, Early Childhood certification, a Masters in Eduction with specialization in reading and math and I am currently pursuing my doctoral degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment so I remain very busy.  Effecting the lives of children is my passion and I love my job at Columbus.
I have 5 children ranging from 22-7 years of age.  I have a wonderful husband.  To relax I camp, read, spend time with my family, and sketch.  There are other hobbies I enjoy, but the list is too long for here!!  If I could travel anywhere I would go to India, Italy, and France.  I have already been to Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.  You should go if you get the chance.
I look forward to challenging your students and I can't wait until they achieve the high expectations set before them.  My class this year is amazing.  I look forward to their growth.
